Natural science is a very broad field with many specializations. Here are some of the main areas of specialization in natural science:

  1. Physics: This is the study of matter and energy, their interactions, and the laws that govern them. Specializations within physics include particle physics, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, condensed matter physics, and nuclear physics.
  2. Chemistry: This is the study of the composition, properties, and behavior of matter. Specializations within chemistry include organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and environmental chemistry.
  3. Biology: This is the study of living organisms and their interactions with each other and their environment. Specializations within biology include molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, zoology, and botany.
  4. Earth Science: This is the study of the Earth and its geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy. Specializations within Earth science include seismology, volcanology, climatology, paleontology, and planetary science.
  5. Astronomy: This is the study of celestial objects and their properties, motions, and interactions. Specializations within astronomy include planetary science, cosmology, astrophysics, and astrobiology.
  6. Environmental Science: This is the study of the environment, including its physical, chemical, and biological components, and how they interact with each other. Specializations within environmental science include ecology, conservation biology, atmospheric science, and marine science.
