CAD

CAD — Computer-Aided Design — is where the product is defined: sketches, parts, assemblies, drawings and the design intent behind them.

In N23D, CAD is a view onto the shared model, not a separate application that exports files. The geometry a designer authors is the same geometry manufacturing, simulation and the product record read — in the same Rust process, with no neutral-format hand-off.

What native connection buys you:

  • CAD → CAM: toolpaths stay associative to features, so a depth change updates operations instead of going stale.
  • CAD → CAE: analysis meshes the real model, not a defeatured import, and results stay bound to the exact revision.
  • CAD → ERP: the BOM is derived from the assembly, so purchasing and costing are never a stale spreadsheet.
  • CAD → PLM: every save is a versioned event with full traceability, not a file checked into a vault.
  • CAD → CRM: quotes can reference the actual model and its cost roll-up.

All of it rests on a 100% Rust core. See the platform.
