What “permanent” covers
There are two commercial shapes. Both are owned licenses. Neither is a rented vault.
Studio. When N23D 2026 ships, a one-time $250 node-locked license for that year’s binary. One machine, one concurrent session. Not on sale yet. No subscription. That build keeps running.
Network. A company buys a pool of concurrent seats for a LegalEntity. The binary can be installed on every workstation. Only N sessions run at once. The license server is included. This is sold by quote, not by the homepage $250.
Maintenance is optional. Annual maintenance buys new majors, patches, support, and the update channel. If it lapses, the last entitled version keeps running. The program does not turn off. Maintenance is not the license.
n23d.com is the commercial desk. It does not enforce seats. Identity is your badge (Entra / Okta / AD). Azure is a front door and an optional peer — not the landlord of the CAD.
