Fisica Bets on Creo and Windchill for Post-Merger Configuration Control

PTC announced today (September 15, 2026) that Fisica Applied Technologies—a defense products maker of airborne and ground antennas, electromagnetic systems and simulators, and ruggedized batteries—has standardized on Creo CAD and Windchill PLM for product design and development across its engineering environment.

The buy is a classic CCB problem dressed as a platform decision. After spinning out of L3Harris and merging three antenna-system providers, Fisica needed one digital engineering foundation so four business units and multiple sites could keep design consistency, configuration control, and traceability on complex defense programs—not four local CAD dialects and four revision stories.

“Standardization was essential as we brought together multiple organizations and engineering teams,” said Adam Erskine, Vice President of Business Development at Fisica. “Building on technology with which our teams worked well allowed us to move quickly, collaborate effectively, and maintain confidence in our data and processes from day one.” That is the Change Control Board’s real deliverable: confidence that the released configuration matches what engineering, manufacturing, and the customer think it is.

The wider market is pushing the same discipline. Siemens Teamcenter 2606 (June 12, 2026) added AI and rules-based change management—workflow-template recommendations, automatic routing, impacted-item views, and bulk BOM revert—while an August 11 Teamcenter X walkthrough framed engineering change as one auditable path from request through impact analysis, approval, and release. Different vendors; same pressure: merged orgs cannot rent configuration truth from email.

Locking CAD and PLM onto one stack is how Fisica turns Creo models and Windchill effectivity into a single thread the CCB can actually govern—across units, sites, and suppliers—without inventing a fifth spreadsheet of “approved as of.”

For N23D, the lesson is the same as the press release’s subtext: change control only works when geometry, BOM, and approval live in one owned system of record. N23D’s contract stays one native Rust binary—local-first digital thread, identity that does not rent your audit trail, and a CCB path where the ECO you approved is the configuration the floor builds.
